A devastating fire engulfed a century-old building near Charminar in Hyderabad, claiming the lives of 17 members of a jeweller’s family. The victims, spanning three generations, had gathered for a weekend. The blaze, suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit, rapidly spread through the residential-cum-commercial building, trapping the family due to a single narrow exit.
