On Monday, a city court extended the custody of Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, until January 29. The Principal Sessions Judge S Alli, presiding over the proceedings through video-conferencing from the Central Prison, extended the judicial custody of the DMK leader. Concurrently, Balaji has filed a bail petition with the Madras High Court, following three dismissals of his bail plea by the lower court and one by the High Court.
